It also expounds the role, functions, current activities and existing challenges and prospects of higher education and future action plans of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and the Government as well. The background, goals, objectives and importance of higher education have also broadly expounded in this book. Simultaneously policy drawbacks and recommendations are proposed for further improvement of quality education and cutting edge research with a view to enhancing and enriching the structural management of higher education in Bangladesh. To foster and promote higher education in both public and private channel, public-private partnership (PPP) programs should be initiated in higher education sector. The book also examines the trend of demand for problems and issues of contemporary higher education in Bangladesh using historical-empirical method. It has opened up new horizons of higher education at the private levels. At present, there are 51 Public and 108 Private Universities in the country. Quantity without quality cannot ensure the main objectives of higher education.
